My first night at the Journalism Workshop
My first night at the Auburn University High School Journalism Workshop was fun and successful. I arrived about 5 p.m. and checked in to my room. I was a bit shocked to find that the rooms were as basic as could be. Two beds, two desks, a dresser, and a SHARED bathroom. Once I got all settled in my room, I went to the lobby and met Dr. Adams and the chaperones for the week, along with all of the students participating this week.
Everybody walked a long walk to the arboretum and enjoyed a nice dinner and we began to socialize with one another. After dinner, we were paired up for to give our first interview. After interviews, we presented the person we interviewed to the entire group. We certainly found out some interesting facts about each other.
After we got to know everybody, Dr. Adams gave us some information for the week and our meal cards so we could eat. We walked back to our rooms, and watched a movie in the lobby before settling down for the night.
Overall, I would say my first night at the Journalism Workshop was a memorable one.
